Avon’s Loss, Adam’s Win

Men lining out their eyes and using glitter? No, we’re not talking about Peter Pan. In fact, Avon called they want their makeup back. Adam Lambert is now coming out with a new line of men’s makeup. He’s styling up the grooming of today’s men, and yes, straight men wear makeup too.

There is a lot of publicity about Adam and his new line of men’s cosmetics, but believe it or not, men’s make up has been around for centuries, well actually longer. Back in Ancient Egyptian times, men lined their eyes and painted their face. In fact, it was completely normal during that age to even see a child with eyeliner. No, Adam’s make up is not made with Mercury or Lead.

And although, Adam Lambert’s line is not for spiritual purposes, like those of the Egyptians, he is bringing back an autonomy that has long left the male population. He’s created an equal playing field for both men and women to relate. Now, women will be asking men what lipstick is better for their complexion, and what eyeliner doesn’t smudge. If you think about it, we’re able to move closer together because of the blending of the rouge on our human cheeks. No more should men’s makeup be considered taboo.

Top 20 Androgynous Celebs

Believe it or not, androgynous celebrities do exist (and some are pretty hot). Especially these days, the idea of gender and sexuality have sort of become fluid, and are beginning to be more accepted in our society today. I don't know if you've noticed, but skinny jeans are becoming quite a trend with not only women, but also men these days. Reminds me of the 50's where the "Bad boys" use to wear tight jeans and leather jackets, and John Travolta singing "Grease Lighting".

Anyway, I decided to come up with my own Top 20 list of androgynous celebrities, because 10 just isn't enough. Enjoy!

20.) Bret Michaels

Lead vocalist of Poison and also well-known for his reality show "Rock of Love". Check out the leopard print.

19.) Pat

Remember Pat?! The androgynous character on Saturday Night Live. Pat was actually created and played by a woman: Julie Sweeney.

18.) Prince

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, or was born yesterday, you'd know the power of Purple Rain.

17.) KD Lang

Canadian pop and country singer

16.) Ellen Degeneres

How can you NOT love Ellen?!

15.) Hanson

This was back in the day, but still worth posting. Don't lie. You know you listen to MmmBop on repeat in your car.

14.) Jenny Shimizu

I mean, she use to date Angelina Jolie (!!!)... 'Nuff said.

13.) David Bowie

Makes me want to watch Labyrinth

12.) RuPaul

I bet you never thought you could see RuPaul wearing a tie and suit, huh?

11.) Michael Jackson

One of the greatest entertainers that ever lived. Rest in Peace, MJ!

10.) Daniela Sea

Best known as "Max" on The L Word. I could totally swim in those baby blues *swoon*

9.) Marilyn Manson

Come on, you knew he was going to be on here!

8.) Gracie Jones

One of the worlds top supermodels

7.) Kate Moennig

Best known as "Shane" from The L Word. UM... *double swoon* Can we say HOT?!

6.) Jaye Davidson

If you haven't seen The Crying Game yet, I definitely recommend it. There is one scene that'll definitely make you remember this movie lol.

5.) Eddie Izzard

British comedian. Cake or death?! Cake, please.

4.) Adam Lambert

Was one of the top two finalist of American Idol

3.) Boy George

Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameeeleeeon

2.) Bill Kaulitz

Vocalist for Tokio Hotel. And yes, he's straight.

1.) Brian Molko

Lead singer for Placebo. He's straight too.

Update

Well hello! After about 3 months of silence, I thought it would be a good time to do an update, ha!

To summarize the last three months, it's been quite interesting. Lots of changes, growing, learning, and new opportunities. To say the least, I went through some growing pains, but I think everyone experiences these stages at some point in their lives. Moving forward, I haven't stopped planning for Unbound. I'm looking towards more shows this year, and new shirt designs, woohoo! I've also been working on re-designing the website as well, so that's part of what's been happening behind the scenes. Not to mention, I've had quite a few requests for winter gear, so that's something else I'll be looking into.

I'm still in shock that it's 2010, and we're almost in the middle of the year! I guess parents really mean it when they say to enjoy your childhood while it lasts. Anyway, just a short post to let you guys know that I'm still alive and kicking. More to come!

Is it really almost 2010?!

Wow wow wow, it's nearing the end of the year. Can't believe it! Why is it when you're a child, time seems to go by soooooo slooooow, but once you hit adulthood, it's like bam, bam, bam! Craziness.

Anyways, so there's quite a few new things happening in December for Unbound! First off, a new design for December has been released!! The "Conformity" design is pretty straight forward to say the least. Everybody is different, so why not embrace it and learn from it, instead of letting our fear get the best of us and neglecting it? This is one of my favorite designs, not only because it is simple and straight to the point, but it has a strong message behind it.

Secondly, there will be a holiday sale that will be going on from December 13th to January 2nd. One dollar from each shirt sold will also be going to the Toys for Tots Atlanta charity drive to provide toys for needy children this holiday season.

To receive 15% off your purchase, type in the discount code on check out: TOYS4TOTS

Thirdly, I have switched over to begin printing on Tultex fashion tees. Tultex is 100% ringspun cotton and is also has a MUCH softer feel. The cut of the shirt is a bit more fitted than regular tees, which gives it a more fashionable look. Sizing is still the same, however, if you want your shirt to be a little looser, I would recommend ordering a size up.

NOTE: All NEW designs from now on will be printed on Tultex, but the older designs have not been switched over yet.

Custom screen printed tags have also been added, so no more annoying neck tags (I always hate those!).

*Takes a deep breath* So, that's about it! Click here to check out the store! Check out the pics below :)

Ok wow.

Sorry for sucking at updating my blog. A lot has been going on lately and it's been a little crazy trying to keep up!

Atlanta Pride went quite well! The response was a lot larger and I had a chance to really connect with people this time and even made some new friends :) . It was great to see people's smiles and hear people's comments when they came into the tent to check out the shirts. Even people who walk by and took a step back to read a shirt, then giggle. I loved it! Saturday was pretty yucky since it rained half the day, so the crowds were a bit smaller, but Sunday was beautiful day, so the park was jam packed with people everywhere lol. My booth neighbors were pretty cool too, which was a plus. They actually ended up buying some shirts from me at the end of the day too, hehe. So, thank you, Heidi and Ben, for your support! Pictures of the event can be found on the Unbound fan page on Facebook, so check it out if you have a chance.

In other unrelated news, I got a doggie :) I've been thinking of getting one for the past couple of months and just felt it was the right time. 6 months ago I had to put down my Yorkie of 15 1/2 years. He was the first animal I ever had and it was incredibly tough to let him go, but I know it was only for the best. He had a long and spoiled life full of love and great food lol. But anyways, I really missed having the companionship of a dog. Cats are cool (I have one too), but they're just too independent sometimes and you can't exactly take them for a walk at the park. So, me and my fav went to the pound and found an adorable, sweet Dalmation/Pitbull mix and immediately knew she was the one. She was listed as a stray which was hard to believe because she was super smart and seemed to be already house trained. Her and my cat are slowly becoming buddies, so that's a huge plus. That was something I was a bit worried about since the dog is like 10 times my kitteh's size lol. I also think she has a size complex cuz she really likes sleeping in the cat's bed as you can see in the pic above. You can see my cat behind her like "WTF, that's mine!", hahaha. That's one of the main updates in my life.

As for updates on Unbound... I have a surprise for December coming up that will be revealed at the beginning of the month. The holidays are coming up and so is Black Friday :) ... I've got some ideas floating around, so stay tuned! I think that about sums up the main parts, however, I'll try better next time to update more often =P

Have a good night!

Soooo... Halloween is around the corner, which means, Atlanta Pride is coming up! Which means, I have another show to go to!! I know I haven't blogged much about it but it was sort of a last minute thing. I got lucky and was able to sign up for a spot as a vendor. This year's pride will be located back at Piedmont park as opposed to last year, which I heard was in some venue parking lot. I didn't get to go last year, but from what I heard, it wasn't the greatest, so I think the Pride committee and Piedmont park finally came to a compromise to have it during Halloween. It'll be nice because people won't be passing out this time from the heat lol. Anyways, here's the link.

I'm super stoked about this one since it'll be a local show and a lot of people I know will be going! Halloween is always an interesting holiday. Of course the fun part is going out to find a costume and eat candy until your teeth rot out. I was at one of those Halloween stores with my fav and found this costume:

Hahahaha! Aside from the dude dressed as a Baywatch babe that needs a serious bikini wax, the name of the costume itself was pretty hilarious. They had some other "adult" ones as they call it. Another I saw was of a plug and an electric socket. Obviously this would be for a couple (guy and girl none-the-less), but guess who was pictured as the plug? Yup... typical, haha. I was thinking of getting the outfits and being the plug and wearing it in my booth, but then I realized my plug would probably be too big to fit in the booth, haha! Get it? My plug too big? Hahahaha! I know I'm lame, so! But yeah, back to what I was saying. I ended up getting this kick ass hat that I'm gonna wear during the show. It's going to be super festive, you just wait and see! Other than that, it was fun and a total adventure.

Alright. I'm getting sleepy, must go beddy bye, so peace!
